On June 25th, 2020 Morocco became the 17th nation to order the Boeing Apache AH-64E combat helicopter. The order which will be enacted as part of a Foreign Military Sales will see the delivery of the first aircraft in the year 2024.
Morocco will receive a mature combat helicopter design with more than 2,500 units built for customers such as the US Army, Egypt, Greece, Israel, the UK, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Netherlands, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates.
Boeing claims the AH-64E Apache relies on the latest open systems architecture incorporating newest communications, navigation, sensor and weapon systems. A new Target Acquisition Designation System for day, night and all-weather target information, has now been improved to operate in a maritime environment. New on-board digital communication include the Joint Tactical Information Display improving situational awareness when operating with other allied systems.
It is powered by two more powerful T700-GE-701D engines with upgraded face gear transmission and a composite rotor blade.
