WestJet, Canada’s second largest carrier has inaugurated the first ever Calgary to Paris direct flight.
An accompanying codeshare partnership agreement has been put in place with Air France, facilitating passengers travel to an aditional 11 european cities.
The new route is made possible by the recent introduction into WestJet service of the state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner configured in 16 first, 28 business and 276 coach seats. The new aircraft is expected to play a key role in executing the carrier’s new international ambitions. With three Dreamliner already operating in WestJet fleet and another seven due for delivery, direct services from Calgary to London, Dublin and now Paris have been started.
The May 17th inaugural flight of the new four times weekly Calgary to Paris direct link was greeted with general enthusiasm regarding the benefits to Alberta and Calgary local economy may generate.
