A Lockheed C-130H-30 belonging to the Algerian Air Force and registered 7T-WHM crashed Tuesday, February 11th 2014 shortly after 11 am (5 am est) while ferrying administrative and military personnel along with their families from Tamanrasset province to the eastern city of Constantine. Of the 77 people on board among which 4 crew members, a lone survivor had been found; a soldier having sustained head injuries.  The plane which crashed and exploded in mountainous terrain near the town of Ain Kercha located 30 miles south east of its destination Constantine had encountered severe weather.
